You can call me Niqua! I am the Founder of Financially Winning, a personal finance platform dedicated to helping individuals win with their finances.
I am originally from the small island of Virgin Gorda located in the Virgin Islands. For most of my life, I understood the concept of “saving for a rainy day” and knew the value of a dollar. But growing up in the Caribbean meant there were some things I was not preview to, especially the massive student loan debt crisis in the US and the concept of investing in the stock market, but all of that eventually changed when I moved from the Virgin Islands.
My educational background is in Accounting and Business and I always had a passion for finances and helping individuals. After completing my studies, I graduated with over $21K in student loan debt and was determined to tackle it. In June 2020, I officially began my journey towards debt freedom and paid off two student loans. By January 2021, I was able to pay off an additional two student loans. In February 2021, I began setting aside my remaining student loan balance and was able to complete this goal in May 2021! Tackling over $21K of student loan debt was not easy, but I was determined and dedicated!
As a wealth builder, I did not always know much about investing until I dedicated time and resources to learning more about US Systems and how to build wealth. I knew tackling my student loan debt would be a pivotal move to continue my wealth building journey, so I did just that!
